END. x Diadora V.7000 "Opera"

The UK’s END. pairs up with Diadora for an opulent remake of the sneaker brand’s V.7000 sneaker. Decked out in bold hits of red and gold, the Italian-made sneaker’s design was motivated by the luxury of opera houses. Bold “END.” and “Made in Italy” detailing on the tongue is matched with yellow leather on the heel, which also sports patches of gold to further underline the sneaker’s ornate influence. Gold speckles appear on the midsole, analogous to confetti tossed at the conclusion of a play, while the opera’s tasseled curtain is reflected in braided rope laces. The extravagant package is rounded out by individually numbered, bespoke packaging, which includes a velvet box and travel bag. Sign up here for your chance to win one of the 150 pairs, which releases on November 4th.

Nike Will Let Shoppers Team Up Online to Buy Hyped Sneakers From Anywhere

One of the most common complaints about the selling of limited sneakers is how exclusionary it can be with respect to geography. Sure, brands and boutiques making this product more readily available online has leveled the playing field, but those outside of metropolitan centers are often still left out. Nike hopes to address this with Stash Squads, an in-development feature for its SNKRS app that brings shoppers from all over together as teams that can buy shoes together.

Wu, however, gave us a much broader analysis of what’s poppin’ in China, where hip-hop culture is growing fast and the love of basketball is now centered around U.S. stars LeBron James and Steph Curry. Would You Pay $40,000 for These Derek Jeter Air Jordans?!?!

In May, Jordan Brand released an extremely limited Yankees-themed Air Jordan 11 Retro in celebration of Derek Jeter's retirement ceremony at Yankee Stadium. The shoes, said to be limited to 5 pairs, were made available at a nearby pop-up shop through a scratch-off lottery system. Acquiring a pair is next to impossible, but a lucky recipient looking to cash in is increasing the odds ever-so-slightly. Consignment shop Stadium Goods has a size 12 listed with an asking price of a jaw-dropping $40,000. That's obviously a steep price to pay for a pair of sneakers, but these are one of the rarest, most collectible pairs ever produced.

Wheat-Colored Air Jordan 6 & Air Jordan 1 Release In Europe

It’s doesn’t get more core Autumn than the influx of “wheat” colored sneakers, and it appears that Jordan Brand is ready to get the party started with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG and Air Jordan 6 in the popular color palette. While the Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 1 are scheduled to release on 11/21 and 11/25 in the U.S., respectively, retailers across Europe are stocking these now, include Nike.com in those territories. This is, of course, just half of what’s to come on the “Wheat” front, as the Air Jordan 1 Flyknit as well as the Air Jordan 13 Retro are set to drop on 11/1 and 11/21, respectively.

Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIV Collection Includes Air More Uptempo, Air Jordan 12, and More

Nike and the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital unveiled the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIV, a collection of six colorful and story-filled sneakers designed by six select patients of the hospital. Since 2003, Nike has tapped 85 different creative minds and has since raised over $17 million for the hospital, and this year’s selection of six shoes aims to add to that number. The entire Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIV Collection releases on November 18th.

ASICS Gel-Lyte III "Honey Ginger"

After the ASICS GEL-Lyte III recently appeared in “Spice Route”, the classic split-tongued runner is also dropping in another tasty suede colorway appropriate for fall in “Honey Ginger”. With some obvious similarities to the popular “wheat” colorway treatment, this GEL-Lyte III features a tan suede upper. But they don’t fully follow the wheat blueprint, as there’s no sign of gum rubber for the outsole. The suede up top is complemented with ripstop nylon for the tongue and collar to complete the clean fall look nicely.

Vans Old Skool "Olive Gum"

Vans' timeless skate silhouette, the Old Skool, is getting a perfect makeover for fall thanks to a new “Olive Gum” colorway. Completely wrapped in “Olive Green” the Old Skool upper is constructed with suede and canvas and features a padded tongue and heel lining. The gum rubber midsole and signature waffle outsole complete the contrasting monochrome look. You can check out the Vans Old Skool “Olive Gum” after the jump.

Nike Air VaporMax Mid-Top Edition

Nike now debuts a mid-top, winterized interpretation. This edition strikes a more outdoors chord with a bulked up upper featuring a reinforced lacing system, anchored straps that wrap around the midfoot, no-tie, bungee cord laces and a bolstered heel counter for added protection and support. The signature VaporMax sole unit keeps its transparent, bubble-like look with added outsole traction and an additional midsole/mudguard layer. The model’s debut colorway stays classic in an predominantly black color scheme with hits of orange at the heel counter outline, the mini Swoosh logos and multicolor weave laces, while a speckled grey midsole layer infuses additional contrast to the design.

The Shoe Surgeon Designs His Own Custom Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1

A post shared by Dominic Chambrone (@theshoesurgeon) on
Hot on the heels of Virgil Abloh’s collaborative Air Jordan 1 model being named “Shoe of the Year” via the Footwear News Achievement Awards, The Shoe Surgeon thought to commemorate the Off-White™ designer with a creation of his own. The sneaker artist fashioned a bespoke iteration of the famed AJ1 model, infusing his own signature twist into the fold. Adopting the same tricolored black, red and white color scheme Abloh used, the custom design, instead, spotlights premium python leather, which envelops the entire upper. The word “PYTHON” lands on the midsole, the same area where the word “AIR” appears on the award-winning version.

First Look: Nike Air More Uptempo Doernbecher

A first peek at this year’s Nike Doernbecher Freestyle is here, and it comes in the form of this creative design of the Nike Air More Uptempo by Brody Miller, a patient at the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. A gradient Max Air unit, iridescent borders on the letters, and a gradient blue midsole are just some of the incredible details that went into this fun final product. The entire Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2017 collection is scheduled to be unveiled during a special event at the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital today, October 27th at 11:00am.

Karhu Fusion 2.0 "Tonal Gray"

Finnish sportswear brand Karhu’s latest shoe is the tonal Fusion 2.0, which comes in a gray colorway. The company has been slowly working itself back into the public consciousness over the last few years, looking back into its archive to do so. Utilizing its 100-year history, the brand dipped back to the ‘90s and looked to the Trampas Plus model as inspiration for its newest pack. They’ve managed to update that silhouette into the Fusion 2.0, which uses a grey suede upper, perforated toe box, EVA midsole and a black tread, making for a clean and minimal shoe. The Karhu Tonal Fusion 2.0, costs $140 USD and is available now from seleect retailers.

The Nike Air Max 90 “NS GPX” drops in atmos stores on October 28th for $130 USD.

This lawsuit came about when the brand decided to release models that took design cues from classic Air Jordan models: the Air Jordan 7 and Air Jordan 11. This new collection, however, focuses entirely on neutral clothing, bolstered by a red, white and blue motif. TEALER’s own logo is printed on the Stars and Stripes for good measure. Bold slogans feature heavily in the new offering, with sweaters and sweat shorts emblazoned with phrases like “GROWER,” “SMOKER” and “DEALER.” The selection is rounded out by a playful take on an iconic American brand, the Champion logo and stitched tag both get revised with the brand’s offbeat sense of humor. Check out the range at TEALER’s new American-facing web store.

Virgil Abloh Is Going to Be Lecturing at Harvard

Virgil Abloh has a lot on his plate. Besides designing his own collections and working on a range of collaborations, the Off-White™ designer is prepping to deliver a speech at Harvard. According to Abloh’s Instagram story, seen below, the designer will give a lecture to Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. The discourse, likely entitled “Program Organization, Sequencing Experiences,” will focus on “a Contemporary Design Theory.” Considering Abloh’s background in architecture and that the Instagram Story makes notice of an Architectural Design studio, it’s possible that the lecture won’t focus on fashion design at all. Virgil Abloh’s Harvard lecture is set to take place at the Ivy League research university October 26 at 3:30 pm EST.
