Nazi Flag Accidentally Appears on!?!

A shopper on adidas' website was confronted with an unexpected image while trying to buy a pair of sneakers last week. Twitter user @Kid_Grusum posted a screenshot on Friday, Sept. 22nd, from that includes a Nazi flag. The unfortunate image appeared during the checkout process, where Adidas uses a Google service called ReCaptcha to ensure that human customers and not automated bots are the ones buying sneakers. The service asks users to identify images matching a certain label, pulling tagged images associated with keywords from a database. When reached for comment, an Adidas spokesperson said that the brand is in talks with Google to make sure this particular image doesn't appear on its site again. "We sincerely apologize," a spokesperson said. "We stand for equality and inclusion and denounce any symbols that contradict those values."

Nike Air Force 1 Low "Camo" Pack

Just recently Nike unveiled the SF-AF1 Mid “For Baltimore”, a city exclusive release that puts a spotlight on how the city of Baltimore saved the Air Force 1 from disappearing into the Nike vault. While Baltimore should be rightfully credited for keeping the Air Force 1 alive, the Harlem neighborhood of New York City also deserves some daps for keeping the flame burning bright as well. After all, NYC is the reason why AF1s got the “Uptowns” nickname. While the all-white Air Force 1 continues to be the best-selling style of the Air Force 1, it’s the wilder, more colorful themes that also give the shoe its appeal as well. This December, Nike is revisiting the popular camouflage print in three distinct styles on the Air Force 1 Low.

This Store Is Using a Slot Machine for Its Sneaker Raffles?!?!

Popular sneaker releases aren't only chaotic online. Stores are finding it increasingly difficult to handle the ruckus that a highly sought after pair brings to their location, resulting in creative measures being taken to keep things fair for everybody. Madrid's Foot District, known for innovative in-store activations, is trying its luck with an all-new method. Essentially "gamifying" sneaker releases, the shop set up a slot machine to determine winners for the recently released Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary. With 100 tickets available, customers competed for their size by pulling the lever. Those after the same size were grouped together, with the highest scores securing the right to purchase a pair.

Now, following up on that release, the silhouette will receive an atmos-inspired colorway. The New Day Goes Sneaker Shopping With Complex

The painful childhood trip to Payless to purchase new sneakers is a relatable tale to adult collectors. In the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping, which features WWE trio The New Day, wrestler Kofi Kingston remembers how one of those trips ended in embarrassment for him. Kingston secured a pair sneakers that looked like Larry Johnson's Converse Aero Jam from Payless as a youth, which were at first celebrated and then derided by his peers. "I'm walking around, everyone's like, talking about these awesome shoes I have on my feet," Kingston recounts, "and then lunchtime came around and people got a closer look. We used to call 'em—no-name brand shoes, we used to call 'em 'bobos'". At lunchtime he was called out for his bobos, an episode that prompted him to throw the imitation Converse away when he got home. Watch Kingston, the rest of New Day, and surprise guest Wale talk sneakers in the video above.
