The Charlotte Hornets Will Wear Jordan Brand NBA Jerseys Next Year?!?!

Major changes are coming to the NBA’s wardrobe next season, as the league is switching from longtime apparel partner adidas for an eight-year contract with Nike. That’s reason enough to celebrate if you weren’t a fan of those sleeved jerseys or missed the opportunity to buy Swingman jerseys at retailers across the country. Not only will the Swoosh be featured on freshly sponsored jerseys in-game for the first time ever, but the Charlotte Hornets announced that they will be the only team wearing uniforms featuring the Jumpman logo given that their owner is the one-and-only man that made the logo famous himself, Michael Jordan. In a press release regarding a change to the team’s stadium fan shop, the Hornets snuck in that information and also unveiled that the Hornets shop will stock other merchandise with the team’s logo sponsored by Jordan Brand.

This Unofficial Nike x adidas Mashup Solves Your “Swoosh or Three Stripes” Problem

If you were having a tough time choosing which sports brand to cop some slides from, an unofficial New York-based mashup has answered your dreams. The slides are designed by Shirt NYC, who has also released dual-branded Nike and adidas T-shirts and hoodies, an”Impossible is Nothing, Just Do It” tee, and hosted a whole pop-up for his bootlegs. Shirt previously described his designs as “100% fake real” but while these sliders may not be exactly co-signed by either brand, they’re also not fakes. Each pair consists of one legitimate Nike slider and one adidas, so you know you’re getting the brand’s quality, if not their blessing.

This Airline Turned Sneakers Into a Traveling Pass to Amsterdam

Geography is often used as a source of inspiration for footwear design. Inside the PUMA Archive with Chief Archivist Helmut Fischer

Walking into PUMA‘s headquarters, a huge, glass-panelled building nestled amongst the houses of the picturesque German town of Herzogenaurach, it quickly becomes apparent how cherished the brand’s rich athletic history is. Plaques of sports heroes wearing the panther logo line the walls. Photos of soccer teams holding international trophies and athletes celebrating the breaking of a world record sit above the shoes that carried them across the finish line. It is here, amongst these portraits of Maradonna, Linford Christie and Clyde Frazier that we’re introduced to Helmut Fischer, otherwise known as "Mr. PUMA." Helmut has worked with the brand for the majority of his life, nearly forty years in fact, and he’s seen PUMA help athletes from Usain Bolt to Boris Becker reach phenomenal levels of success. While the images recently circulating of an Off White x Air Jordan 1 design (pictured here) are of dubious origin, this is what the retail version of the shoe should look like. Off White's creator, Virgil Abloh, has teased several Nike projects over the past year, although none have released just yet save for the Off White x Nike Equality tee. That may change this year though, apparently Abloh and Nike are sitting on a number of collab sneakers. So far, Abloh himself has only confirmed the release of the Off White x Nike Blazer.

Nike Is Letting Converse Use Flyknit

As Nike owns Converse, the latter has long been able to borrow technology from the former to upgrade the comfort on its heritage silhouettes. It's doing that again on the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 2, a model that's set to become the first non-Nike shoe to use Flyknit. Jordan Brand, which is also under the Nike Inc. umbrella, has used a similar material called Flyweave on modern performance shoes, but never actual Flyknit. The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 2 is an updated version of the original All-Star, this one utilizing a Nike Lunarlon insole for cushioning. Converse has released knit footwear before, although those weren't built with Nike's Flyknit tech.
