Teen Uses Bar Mitzvah Money to Buy 400 Pairs of Nikes and Donate Them
A 13-year-old in Texas turned his bar mitzvah into an opportunity to spread the joy of sneakers to area elementary school students. Drew Frank of El Paso, Texas, asked for donations rather than gifts for his celebration and raked in $30,000 in cash in the process, KFOX14 reports. Drew then used that money to buy 400 pairs of Nikes to be donated to students at Beall Elementary. "Anybody who knows me, knows how passionate I am about sneakers but I also know that not everybody in our community is not as fortunate as I am," Drew said. Drew teamed up with the Braden Aboud Foundation to make the sneaker donation happen.
