Reed Space Set to Close Its Orchard Street Store After 15 Long Years

Tucked in the booming Lower East Side district of Manhattan, Reed Space on 151 Orchard St. has been relentlessly serving up the latest in streetwear, fledgling publications and artwork for 15 years. On September 30, the innovative lifestyle boutique will officially shut down operations in the LES, as noted presently via a “for rent” sign and a heartfelt note posted on one glass panel of the flagship store. “[Founder jeffstaple] wanted to revamp our whole image of what we want to do for the culture and the people, so we’re probably going to look into a new direction starting next year,” said manager Ted Sazon to DNAinfo.
