Love 'em or hate 'em, it's hard to deny that Stephon Marbury's "Starbury" line of budget sneakers made major noise when they first released. The video details the business plan of now-extinct retail chain Steve and Barry's that sold the shoes, and even has footage of people lining up to spend $14.98 on them back in the day. While the Starbury line has been the subject of plenty of mockery over the years, the documentary here serves as a reminder of Marbury's admirable intentions with his signature shoes.

Kobe's "Mamba Day" Shoes Were the Most Successful NIKEiD Launch Ever*~

Remember how quickly the "Mamba Day" Kobes sold out on NIKEiD? During Nike's most recent earnings call, one exec said the sneaker was the best-ever launch on the customizable platform. "The Kobe 11 Mamba Day iD shoe was the most successful NIKEiD launch ever, with incredible demand in North America and Greater China," said Nike brand president, Trevor Edwards. "While the end of Kobe’s playing career closes one chapter, we are excited for what the future holds for Kobe and Nike together." It's important to note that Edwards calls it the most successful NIKEiD launch ever–not the most successful NIKEiD shoe period. Launch product from Nike is generally limited, so it's not like these Kobes outsold mainstays like the Air Force 1 and the Air Max 90.
