Nike SB Dunk Low "Mudslide"*~

Things get a bit muddy for the inspiration of this upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low colorway. We can’t be sure because there’s been no official announcement of what this colorway references, but our best guess right now is that they’re actually inspired by the mudslide beverage, a cocktail made with Vodka, Bailey’s, and Kahlua. The creamy alcoholic drink is also often topped off with a mint leaf, which also gives reason for the green accents. Whatever the inspiration actually is, they’re definitely looking pretty good, and will be arriving at Nike SB retailers soon.

Rihanna and Kylie Jenner Are Boosting Puma's Sales*~

PUMA's ongoing collaboration with Rihanna, and it's recent partnership with Kylie Jenner, are really paying off for the brand. In the first three months of 2016, Puma's currency-adjusted sales have increased by 7.3 percent to €852 million, which is approximately $973 million, according to Fashionista. Once again, the recent growth in sales is attributed to its footwear. Overall the segment grew 8.5 percent, and was largely supported by its women's silhouettes. The company highlighted Rihanna's New York Fashion Week show as a driver for sales since it ultimately resulted in her Fenty trainers and fur slides flying off the shelves. As Fashionista points out, the company doesn't name Jenner specifically in its report, but the teen promoting the brand on her social media accounts have also contributed to the increase.

No, "Uncle Martian" isn't a wacky new animated Pixar film. As far as we can tell, it's the name given to a bootleg sportswear brand in China looking to capitalize on the success of Under Armour. Not only do the names sound similar (despite being worlds apart semantically), Uncle Martian's logo is a pretty direct rip of Under Armour's. It's tough to tell what the brand is all about from these images spotted on Chinese site If Google Translate is to be believed though, Uncle Martian will be the source of "comfortable, excellence and innovation so that consumers can enjoy at any time in life sports brand mission.

The Miami Heat power forward posted a new piece on his website this week where he talks about his personal history with sneakers and gives would-be collectors advice on where to purchase footwear. There's not too much insight on picking up shoes that you've not heard before, but Bosh's stories about getting into shoes are certainly relatable. "We’d get one pair at the beginning of each school year and then wear them into the ground," Bosh writes of his days as a youngster coveting sportswear. "I remember getting the Eastbay catalog at school. We’d flip through the pages and fantasize over all the new, cool shoes." Bosh also mentions that the only sneaker from his youth that he's still trying to track down is a pair of Penny 2's. Read the piece in its entirety here.

How to start a sneaker collection

Because I'm an athlete, it might seem obvious that I like sneakers. I wear them a lot, both on the court and off. But my love of this cool and comfortable shoe runs a little deeper. I wouldn't say I'm a hard-core collector; I just collect the ones I like.
