Parisian luxury powerhouse Givenchy unveils a new foray into running-style footwear, in the form of the “Active Line” sneakers. Head to your nearest Givenchy dealer to cop the shoes.

People Are Using Fake Money to Scam Sneaker Resellers*~

If you're one of the many sneakerheads who uses Facebook to sell their shoes, you'll want to pay close attention to this one. Police in Calhoun County, Mich., are dealing with multiple cases of counterfeit money being used to purchase sneakers. WWMT reports that each incident started on Facebook, where the suspects arranged deals with their victims and then used fake $100 bills to buy the shoes. In one such case, the seller quickly realized the cash was fake and ended up following the suspect back to his home.

UNITED ARROWS x ZDA Marathon 2400UA*~

UNITED ARROWS and its imprints continually drop some of the cleanest collabs around, especially when it comes to footwear. Now the Japanese staple is back with its latest sneaker, this time teaming up with an unlikely partner: longtime Slovakian shoe label ZDA. The Eastern European brand has been dropping its signature Marathon since the country’s Czechoslovakian days as a Soviet satellite, so the old school silhouette is an apt inclusion for the collaborative endeavor. Still crafted in Slovakia, UNITED ARROWS’ takes on the kicks come draped in suede and mesh as clean grey and white colorways come with a logo-free upper. Finished with co-branded footbeds, the 2400UA take on the Marathon can be found now at UNITED ARROWS stores for $165 USD per pair.

Michael Jordan Will Likely Make $30 Million More Than Any Athlete in the World This Year*~

With an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion and $110 million in earnings in 2015, it really shouldn't be much of a surprise that His Airness is dominating amongst retired players, David Beckham, who came in second, made just over half of what MJ did, but what really stood out to us was Forbes' prediction that Jordan will make $30 million more than any other retired or active athlete in the world in 2016.

Jordan Brand Only Made 54 Pairs of This Chris Paul Sneaker*~

Limited quantities wasn't always the first thing that came to mind when thinking about Chris Paul sneakers, but Jordan Brand changed that with premium versions of the CP3.IX last year. The "Vachetta Tan" and "Green Suede" colorways were the first to emerge, and it was made very clear that they would only be for friends and family. The "Blue Suede" colorway surfaced earlier this year, leaving fans of this premium Paul sneaker hopeful for an eventual release. Now, thanks to Ronnie Fieg, we know that won't be the case. Ronnie Fieg took to Twitter to share a photo of his pair, along with thanking Jordan Brand and mentioning that it's "#30 of 54."

Craig Sager Returns to TV in Custom Nikes*~

Lovable sideline reporter Craig Sager made his return TV a couple of nights ago, showing up for a Warriors/Wizards game in the midst of his battle with leukemia. In typical Sager fashion, his attire was outrageous. To go with his "Golden Gate Bridge" orange jacket and lurid tie, Sager wore a custom NIKEiD pair of the KD 7 with a snakeskin print. Sager's special sneakers feature embroidery on the tongues that dubs him as "Mr. Fancy Suits" across the left and right shoes. Sager's tenacity inspired many others to take sartorial cues from him yesterday, with social media users posting images of their own #SagerStrong outfits to raise awareness and donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

International soccer icon Lionel Messi caused quite a stir in the Arab world after donating a pair of his soccer boots to charity on TV, The Telegraph reports. Unbeknownst to him, shoes are synonymous with filth in the Arab world, which led to public outcry in Egypt over the move. A clip from his appearance is embedded below.
"We have never been humiliated during our seven thousand years of civilization," Egyptian parliament member Said Hasasin said on TV in response. "I will hit you with the shoes, Messi."

Ex-Nike Designers Start Work at Adidas Today*~

The trio of ex-Nike designers who left the company for adidas in 2014 are finally starting work with the latter, the Portland Business Journal reports. Lawsuits and non-compete clauses delayed their start, but Marc Dolce, Denis Dekovic, and Mark Miner are cleared to work as of now. The three were sued by Nike in 2014 to the tune of $10 million following their departure, with the sportswear brand alleging that they stole trade secrets. The case was settled out of court in 2015. The designers will work out of adidas' new design space in New York called the Brooklyn Farm. While the space isn't ready yet, adidas' global creative director Paul Gaudio expressed excitement over the new direction that it represents.
