Jon Jones Just Lost Another Big Sneaker Endorsement*~

Reebok terminated its deal with UFC fighter Jon "Bones" Jones on Wednesday morning, effectively immediately. The termination is connected to Jones' recent legal troubles. Jones turned himself in to police on Monday, following a felony hit-and-run incident in Albuquerque, N.M. Jones has played a big part in the brand's Reebok ZPump Fusion campaign, and is also vital to Reebok's UFC contract. This isn't the first time that Jones has lost an endorsement contract from a big sneaker brand. In September of 2014, Jones and Nike parted ways after a brawl broke out between him and Daniel Cormier in Las Vegas.

adidas Shuts Down 13 Suppliers, Improves Worker's Condition*~

Following their 2014 sustainability report, Supply Management reported that adidas shut down 13 suppliers in Asia in an effort that should improve worker’s conditions. In total, this caused a shutdown of 104 factories which accounts for about a 10% rejection rate based on their factory screening policy. “The remediation of factory issues is beneficial for workers; it raises the bar in terms of better and more timely pay, improved benefits, reduced hours and the legal protection of formal employment contracts, as well as significant improvements in basic health and safety within the workplace,” adidas stated in the report.

Jordan Brand introduces the latest “Hornets” rendition to the Air Jordan 5 Retro silhouette. Paying homage to Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets franchise, the latest rendition borrows the Charlotte Hornets colors as a vibrant purple-blue coating adorns the upper and laces. Adjacent grey accents along the side panel and tongue balance the aesthetic as hints of light blue decorate the “Jumpman” logo and the midsole. A translucent icy blue outsole finishes the silhouette. Goldman Sachs Reports the Decline of Sneaker Sales*~

Wall Street investment bank Goldman Sachs reports a dip in sneaker sales at Foot Locker and Finish Line as a result of a slowdown in sneaker collecting. Data collected by Campless, a company that tracks the sales of collectible sneakers on eBay, showed that sales of high-priced shoes declined in January for the first time since 2012. Josh Luber, founder of Campless, attributed the recent slowdown in sneaker collecting to a number of factors, including market saturation, a dip in the number of people who collect sneakers, and a weak slate of Jordan releases at higher price points. Goldman Sachs analysts also noted a cyclical fashion shift away from high-priced performance athletic footwear to casual athletic footwear.

Repossessed Sneakers Ready To Be Auctioned*~

MLIV reports that the auction, which is being run by, has already earned a lot of attention because of the sneakers that are up for grabs. Police have seized about 250 pairs of recent sneakers in Flint, Mich. and now they're planning to flip them via a massive auction. The group includes releases from the past couple of years, mostly Nikes. The men's sizes of the sneakers are mostly 10 and 10.5 along with some youth 6.5s and 7s. There are definitely a lot of skippable shoes in the group, but there are also gems like the Kobe 9 "Beethoven," Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 Highs, the "Shooting Stars" Penny Pack, "Concord" Jordan 11s, and more.

Concepts x ASICS Tiger GEL Lyte III 25th Anniversary "Boston Tea Party"*~

The ASICS GEL-Lyte III is celebrating its quarter-of-a-century birthday this year, and with the help of Concepts there’s a special pair of GEL-Lytes to commemorate the anniversary. New Balance has released its “Mecha” Pack. The collective offering consists of three pairs of New Balance silhouettes, the 580, 999 and 1600. Yesterday, the autographed Nike high-tops Michael Jordan handed to Khalid Ali, who was one of the Lakers’ ball boys during MJ’s rookie season, fetched a cool $71,553 USD through SCP Auctions. The sneakers are certainly a dream antique for fans of Jordan and sneakerheads alike. Earlier this month, Sneakers Addict played around with the idea of a BAPE x adidas Yeezy 750 Boost collaboration. Little did they know that counterfeiters were watching, eager to turn their concept into the real deal...sort of. Above is an image of a factory variant BAPE Yeezy Boost styled after the April Fool's mock. Sadly, it's not that far off, meaning unsuspecting buyers are bound to get burnt. Don't be that person.
